30 Day Photo Challenge…

Okay.  I’m now ready to take on my own 30-day photo challenge.  Two of my friends (Myra and Elaine) have already took on this challenge and I think it’s now my turn to do so.  Since it’s my birth month, I thought it would be nice to do something different this year :)

Here’s my 30-day challenge list which I saw from Sherry‘s blog;

Tomorrow will be DAY 1!  This is going to be FUN!

Blackboard Nails :p

I finally got hold of Orly‘s Vinyl Black (aka Matte Black) nail polish!  Yehey!  Doesn’t it remind you of a blackboard? :)   Makes me want to write on it using chalk or maybe go back to school… NOT! :p

* just don’t mind the messy application :D hehe…

I heard this color has been discontinued by Orly :( — but I’m happy that I was still able to get hold of one :)   You may view other Matte nail polishes from Orly here.

Ps.  Aia, your bottle is still with me :)

PROS:

1. I love the color!

2. I love how easy it was to apply it and how fast it dries up.

NOT-SO-CONS :)

1. After a few days, it gets a little shiny.

2. It does chip quite easily — or it must have been how I applied it :)

Death by Sambokojin x-)

Last August 26, my husband and I decided to try out Sambokojin along Edsa. It was a rainy-bum-around long weekend and we didn’t have anything much better to do but eat. So Sambokojin was definitely a good option.

When we got there, the place was packed! I guess everyone was having a rainy-bum-around day as well :) We waited for 30 minutes to get a table (good thing we weren’t hungry yet and we were working up an appetite) and I can say, it was definitely worth the wait!

The buffet selection was great, the quality was awesome and most of all, they were using smokeless grills so I didn’t have to worry about leaving the restaurant smelling like food (ugh!).

Look at how yummy they look! Wait til you taste them!

Before...

After... Yummeh!

Don’t forget to make use of their sauces! They make the food yummier!

* excuse the messy containers as I took the photos after using them all up! :D

Don’t ever ever forget to grab at least a piece of their freshly cooked TEMPURA! Oh so yummy! More of the shrimp, less of the batter. Just the way we like it!

My husband chowed down 6 pieces, 10 pieces, 15 pieces (what the heck, it was A LOT!) of it for d-e-s-s-e-r-t!

And last, but not the least, the REAL dessert …

Just a few of what was available. They also serve Big Scoop ice cream!

HEAVENLY!

We were so happy that we had to share it with our families — which meant that we were back again in 2 days, August 28…

…. then again the following Sunday, September 4 :D

That makes it three visits in 10 days! FATINESS ALERT — but who cares, our tummies were extremely happy :) Can’t wait for our next pig-out session!

Ps. Deciding whether to go for Sambokojin or Yakimix? If you’ll ask me, I’d go for Sambokojin anytime! Goodbye Yakimix!

I’m Not Spoiled, I’m Just Well-Loved :)

My birthday is fast approaching and I can almost feel it!

Last week, I got an early birthday gift from my dear friend, Spam (read blog entry here) then this week, I got my first gift from my dearest husband!  Yipeeyayay!!!

What is it?  Read on…

I initially wanted the Sperry Angelfish Slip-On Boat Shoe when I saw it in Shoe Salon last week (the problem of working near the mall!), I love the color and how girly it looks.  When I tried it on, it was comfortable enough.  Thought bubble, I like it.  I want it. ;)

But when I saw the Sebago Bala on the Sebago‘s store window this week, I almost fainted!  I immediately went in, tried it on and I heard angels sing in the background — that is how comfortable and soft it is!  Heavenly!

So here is a photo of the actual gift dear husband gave me…. A pair of super duper comfortable Sebago Bala in taupe suede and white!  Haaay… *dreamy eyes*

What's not to love?

Of course, shopping wouldn’t be complete without a little online research (yes, I research on stuff, just out of curiousity, teehee!) and look at what I found!

Kate Middleton looks fab and the Sebago Bala must be her favorite shoes!

* photos from www.newportstylephile.com, www.sugar-and-spice.com, www.katemiddleton-pictures.com

Trivia : After Kate Middleton was seen wearing the Sebago Bala, Sebago sold around 700 pairs in one week!  Imagine?!?!  The taupe suede and white, which I got, is currently out of stock in the US and others are selling it at double the price!  Funny that I was able to get a pair here in Manila.  Maybe I should hoard all the available stocks here and sell it at double the price! :)

Anyway, people would usually say that I’m spoiled becuase I usually get what I want.  I beg to disagree — I’m not spoiled.  I’m just well-loved *wink! wink!*

Thanks Hon for my early birthday gift!  I love it!

A Super Early Birthday Gift :)

My birthday is still 13 days away and I have already received a super duper early gift last week!  Yehey!  Happiness!

As you may already know, I love books and my favorite “destressing” place is Fully Booked.  So last week, when Spam and I dropped by Fully Booked, the second book of Gabriella Pierce caught my eye (her first book was given to me by my team. Yey!).  I immediately picked it up and to my surprise, Spam grabbed it from me and told me, “That’ll be my birthday gift for you!”

Haaay…  Thank God for such great friends!  Love you Spamy! :)

Book Summary (from Amazon.com):

Jane Boyle married her prince charming and moved into his upper east side castle—but she didn’t get her fairy-tale ending

It’s hard to live happily ever after when you discover your demanding and controlling mother-in-law is literally a witch, determined to steal the magical powers you didn’t even know you had. Jane narrowly avoided Lynne Doran’s clutches when she escaped on her wedding day, and has been hiding out in New York City. But she can’t hide forever.

When Jane learns of the one thing Lynne wants most, she sets out to provide it, hoping her good turn will persuade her mother-in-law to stop hunting her. Unfortunately, Jane’s daring plan will send her right back into the witches’ den—the Doran clan’s multistory town house on Park Avenue. But thanks to a tricky spell, blond architect Jane will be transformed into Ella, a dark beauty with a whole new look . . . and all of Jane’s budding powers. Though the stakes are life or death, nobody said “Ella” couldn’t have a little fun along the way, too.

You may get this book from Amazon.com as well :)   Click the image below.

Snail Mail from Seatmate :)

With the advancement in technology, sending someone a letter via snail mail is almost not an option nowadays…

… but there is only one person in my life today who still takes time to send me snail mails…  she’s no other than my Seatmate:)

Today, I got this in my mailbox…  :)

I smiled seeing Seatmate's name on the return address... I smiled even more seeing the photos of the little boy :)

You're welcome, Seatmate!

Here are more photos of this cute little boy, as well as my fabulously looking Seatmate :)

First photo I received of Rocco. Definitely good news!

Look at that big smile!

YAWN!

My fabulous Seatmate whom I miss sooo much!

Don’t you think he’s the cutest newborn ever?  Look at that nose!  Look at those eyes!  I can’t believe a newborn can look this goooood! He’s definitely heaven sent!

Welcome to our crazy world, Rocco!  I’m one proud Tita!  :)   Tight hugz and kisses!

My Team…

I have to say, I really love these guys (same way as I have loved and still love my past teams).  I’m one proud Mommy if I can put it that way.  They’re all experts in their own roles and really reliable.

Last August 25, my team and I went out for lunch.  It was ‘sort of’ my last team lunch with them. :(   It is what we fondly call “HAPPY LUNCH” wherein we just pig-out.

We took the Araneta shuttle going to Ali Mall.  It was my first time to take the shuttle.  It was quite slow (I almost fell asleep, haha!) but it was a fun experience!

Hungry!!!

Lunch was at Savory and we ordered a lot of food!  I would like to believe that the food we ordered filled up their growling tummies!  Ang tatakaw ng mga ito eh! :p

Then as we were about to end our happy lunch, these kids of mine surprised me with a bag filled with loot!

I love surprises!

First, a charm bracelet which is sooo perfect for me.  I have a feeling with prayers and this lucky charm bracelet, my ultimate wish will be granted… SOON! *happiness*

I pray that my ultimate wish comes true :)

Second, a book which I’ve been eyeing for the longest time.  Gabriella Pierce’s 666 Park Avenue.  Each time we’ll drop by Fully Booked to destress, I’ll pick up this book and read the summary (even if I’ve already read it a million times!) *happiness again!*

Aside from the nice cover design and interesting summary, this is what caught my eye…  Interesting…

Interesting huh? :)

And last, but definitely not the least… a notebook filled with short messages from each one of them…  deeply touching :) *happiness again and again plus tears of joy*

I was deeply touched with the messages...

I will definitely miss working with these guys.  I may have moved out from the team but they’ll always be my ‘kids’ whom I’ll always be proud of :)

FY11 ERP Team

To my ERP team, you guys ROCK! Continue to make me proud!  Thank you for a great FY11!

You may also get 666 Park Avenue from Amazon.com.  Click the image below :)

OPI Serena Glam Slam Duo

Whoopiedoo!  Guess what my dear dear friend brought home for me?  The OPI Serena Glam Slam Duo!  Double happiness!

Glam... Glam... Glam...Here are the shadesHere are the shades

Of course, I immediately tried it on and this is how it looked!

First, Simply Smashing (NL S17) for my base color.

Since the color was so nice, I had to delay putting on the shatter nail polish the following day.  I just wanted to enjoy the gold shimmer on my nails first :)

I applied the Black Shatter (NL E53) nail polish the following day and this is what I got!

They’re soooo much fun!  Try it!

Review :

1. The Simply Smash-ing nail polish dried up pretty fast and I love how it was so easy to put it on.  The brush was perfect!  Removing it was a little tough — same as any other glitter nail polish, but with how nice it looked on my nails, it was worth the trouble.

2. The black shatter was sooo nice.  Sorry to Etude House, but I have to say, OPI is way better in more ways than one.  First, it doesn’t get too thick like Etude House’s crack nail polish (and this)after it has been exposed to air.  Second, it shatters nicely!  I don’t know if it was how I applied it (and I got lucky) but I love how it cracked :) Then last, when you touch your nails after application, the cracks aren’t too embossed on your nails.  Etude House’s crack nail polish tend to appear more embossed.  I guess it’s because of how thick the nail polish gets.

Thanks again Angel for bringing home these goodies!

What Time Is It?

Knowing that you have a friend whom you can rely on is one of the best things life could offer…

…but when distance comes between the two of you, you have to admit, things will never be the same again.

You know what I’m talking about.  It’s the time difference that makes it more complicated. Send your friend a message now, expect an answer after a few hours — not that she ignored your message but it’s because she’s just about to start her day.

That’s the reason why I usually find myself asking this question whenever I miss my friends (which is ALWAYS!)… What time is it?

LA for Angel ; Vancouver for Seatmate ; Winnipeg for Brattypotter ; Melbourne for Twinnie :)

* Thanks to Blackberry Travel for my world clock! :)

This way, if I have something really important to tell them (shopping and good finds are important!), I can either wake up early or stay up late… Or at least, I’ll know around what time I’ll be expecting a reply ;)

I really miss you guys!  Mwah!

My Driver’s License Renewal

Accomplished! After almost a year of putting off my driver’s license renewal, I have finally found the time to have it done!

Since there wasn’t much interesting stuff to take photos of inside their office (while waiting for my license to be released), I thought of just taking a photo of the fees you have to pay for when renewing your driver’s license.

Don't allow your license to expire for more than 2 years!

Don’t allow your license to expire for more than 2 years!

Thanks to the fast service in LTO Galleria! Woot! Woot! I think I’ll be done in an hour! :)

Update : Yes, I was in and out in an hour.  It could have been shorter but since they had problems with their system connection, I reached the 1 hour mark in processing my license :)
