Perfectly Braided ;)

Ok, it wasn’t really perfect but it was a nice try. I tried my hands on braiding my own hair as it has been years since I braided them — and I have to say, it was quite fun doing it! :)

I was targetting a sweet and romantic look for the despedida party of my dear Twinnie and her family, so I thought of matching my curls and light pink fairy skirt with a little bit of braided hair…

What I wore : Topshop knitted top, Victoria’s Secret inner tank top, Pink fairy skirt bought from a friend and ASOS brown satchel

Spaaaah-rty by Orly…

Two weekends ago, I got invited to Orly‘s spa party at Posh Nails, where Orly launched their Cool Romance collection. When I got the invite, I immediately said YES! Why wouldn’t I? I’m addicted to pretty nail polish and I love pampering sessions! Teehee!

What I wore : The invite stated, "Laid-back Romantic" so attire was really open to anyone's interpretation of "romantic" -- Forever21 lace top. Coral hued blazer from Hong Kong, Bayo denim skirt and my favorite DESÙ camel wedge (Love. Love. Love).

When I saw the collection, I swooned and immediately fell in love with the unusual pastel colors! They’re perfect for spring! — not that we really have spring here in Manila ;)

This collection features six soft, splash of cool and romantic pastel shades — You’re Blushing (Wisteria Crème), Prelude to a Kiss (Pastel Pink Crème), Jealous Much (Mint Crème), Faint of Heart (Soft Gray Crème), Steel your Heart (Charcoal Shimmer), Artificial Sweetener (Dusty Rose Shimmer). Don’t you think the names are sooo cute?!?

I had a hard time choosing the color to put on as they were all so purr-ty! If only I could have all the colors on my nails, I would have! But I had to make a decision and ended up choosing “Prelude to a Kiss” to match my coral hued blazer for the day :)

What’s not to love about this shade? It’s so dainty and girly! Personally, I think it looks more of a peachy shade with a hint of pink. The first coat was a little streaky but you should be ok with two coats for full coverage (a third one won’t hurt either).

Of course, Orly sessions won’t be complete without their ever reliable top and base coats. Can I just say I swear by Orly’s Glosser (top coat) and Orly’s Bonder (base coat)? They really protect my fingernails from turning icky yellow! So I’m close-to-sureness, their Top2Bottom top and base coat will give similiar resuts… We’ll see… ;)

It was indeed a fun and relaxing event. Having your nails pampered by Posh Nails, nail polish c/o Orly, while being served yummy calorie-filled snacks and drinks, is THE LIFE! And don’t forget the loot bag we received after the event! What more can you ask for?

It was made more fun because I was with my fellow blogger friends from The Breakfast Club, Aia and Elaine. Everything is always more fun when done with these friends :)

Clear As Plastic!

Yehey! Finally! My own clear swag bag from BEABI! I’ve been eyeing this bag since December when I saw it in one of the BEABI stores. You know how you want something but don’t really want to spend for it, just yet? This was one of them!

So I grabbed the chance to include it in my wishlist for a super delayed Christmas party which we had last weekend. Lo and behold, my Secret Santa gave it to me (Thanks Ed and Cat!). I was super happy!

Now, to start dumping my weekend stuff into one single bag! Happiness!

Ps. The chocolates inside the bag are for my husband. :p

Want To Know A Secret???

Aha! If you’re reading this blog post right now, it just shows how interested you are in knowing someone else’s secret (aka TSISMOSA). Haha! :p And I am quite sure my friends who are part of The Breakfast Club are the first few ones who’s checking this one out now (roll call : Aia, Elaine and Myra) :D

Sorry girls, this post is not about my secrets but I think you’ll find it interesting as well :)

I found this book in Amazon when I was just searching thru the titles and I thought of it as ‘quite interesting’. I checked in Fully Booked and super greatness, they have it!

So what is PostSecret all about?

<Wikipedia> PostSecret is an ongoing community mail art project, created by Frank Warren, in which people mail their secrets anonymously on a homemade postcard. Select secrets are then posted on the PostSecret website, or used for PostSecret’s books or museum exhibits.

Interesting huh?

Here are some of the pages which I find interesting and funny :)

It’s always good to recycle ;)

Eeeps!

Sing with me! Rhythm is gonna get’cha. Rhythm is gonna get’cha. Rhythm is gonna get you. The rhythm is gonna get you tonight!

I’ve never done this. Have you?

Some made me reminisce as I was in the same situation once while others were quite disturbing. I really think this book will make a great coffee table book. :)

If you were to send your own postcard, what would you write?

Last Shoe-rrah for 2011

Okay, I tried my best to find the perfect title for this post. I initially wrote “Last Hurrah for 2011″ and thought of changing it :) I tried. Haha!

Moving on… I love shoes and I just couldn’t stop buying them (baaaaad!). So here are the last 2 pairs of shoes I got for myself for 2011.

First pair, my very own, Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66!

I gave my husband a pair of Mexico 66 last Valentine’s Day and it automatically became one of his favorite sneakers. So, after months of thinking, I decided to give in and got myself my own pair :)

20120207-213228.jpg

Pros : I love how they look and they are really cute and comfortable!

Cons : I don’t know why but it seems to be eating up my socks at the back — maybe I’m wearing the wrong kind of socks… we’ll see :D

Second pair, ooooh… I just love these boots! My Steve Madden Graanie boots in stone leather!

I. AM. SO. IN. LOVE. WITH. THESE. BOOTS! LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!

Remember my first pair of Steve Madden boots? They look similar, except that these came with heels! Since I’m just 5’2″, I really need the extra height at times :)

20120207-213256.jpg

** I can’t seem to capture the real color of these boots but to give you an idea, it was more of a greyish brown in color.

Pros :

1. I love how chunky the heels are which makes them comfortable to walk in the whole day.

2. I love the leather as well as the ‘worn out’ look it has.

3. I love it. Period.

Cons : NONE :)

Ps. I also got these boots in black. Teehee… Will post a photo of it once I receive it :D

Rainbow Connection

Oh my! I actually forgot to blog about this! Anyway, this was how my nails looked like last holiday season. :)

I’m so so in love with this nail polish from OPI (Holiday 2011 Muppets Collection Rainbow Connection). They look so festive! Perfect for the holiday season :)

20120206-223629.jpg

Makes me want to sing… “Why are there so many, songs about rainbows…”

Notes:
1. I applied 4 coats to achieve full coverage of my nails. Applied top coat after.
2. You might need to “position” some of the glitters to ensure coverage ;)
3. The glitters are made of really thin “foils” which makes them dry up pretty flat (which is soooo good!)
4. I love the color combination of the glitters
5. Similar to other glitter nail polish, they are quite difficult to remove. As in! — which makes them last longer on your nails too! :D
